60 miles might sound like a lot but it’s really achievable regardless of your fitness levels. You don’t need to do 60 miles at once, break it down. You could reach your goal by just walking a mile a day. Did you know 10,000 steps a day works out as roughly 4.5 miles. The NHS recommends that everyone should undertake 150 minutes of exercise a week. Either a brisk walk, or hitting your 10,000 steps a day, can all count towards your total. By taking on the 60 mile challenge not only will you be helping Action to save and change children’s and babies’ lives, you will also be improving your own health at the same time.
Anyone under the age of 16 is permitted to take part with a parent or guardian but the Everydayhero fundraising page must be set up by the parent/guardian, this is in line with guidance from Fundraising Regulator . Please get in touch with the Events team via email or phone 01403 327 444 if you have any questions.

Using a fitness app is the easiest way to track your distance. Everydayhero are partnered with Fitbit, MapMyFitness and Strava so you can use any of these apps to record your distance and link it to your fundraising page. On the day you start the challenge, your page will automatically update the distance you run/walk and let your friends and family know how you're getting on. Fundraisers who use this feature can raise significantly more during their fundraising challenge.
The two videos below will show you how to link your fitness app with your fundraising page, but if you have any problems please get in touch.
If you forget to use an app to track your miles, simply manually update your fundraising page. Remember to only manually log distances that your app didn't track!
